Sony Headset bought at SGD69 broken within 9 months

This is the cheapest neck back headset I found in Jurong Point Sony Style, so I bought it. Well, I won’t expect it to last forever but I do expect it to last more than 1 year..buts……it broken within 9months.

Therefore, I took my time go back to the same shop and found out that anything cost less than $100 for headset is not cover by any warranty(except a first 7 days exchange). WTH! I can easily find an headset selling less than $50 and it’s covered by at least 1 year warranty.

By spending a little bit more, I can even buy a Sennheiser headset with 2 years warranty @ $99 (that’s still less than 100!)

Moral of the story:

DON’T BLINDLY TRUST ANY BRAND;

TRUST ONLY QUALITY PRODUCTS!

Headset from SONY? I scare my spending not justifiable.

Judging from the long list above, it looks like there are still lots of thing Sony Ericsson can do to perfect the overall experience and make a customer happier. (software wise)

For Hardware wise there is only one complaint and it’s a serious one for the QWERTY keyboard :
I SERIOUSLY THINK THAT THE MATERIAL USE TO SUPPORT THE PHYSHYCAL KEYPAD WASN’T UP TO THE STANDARD AND IT’S OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW.

I sent back my X1 twice within one year to repair the QWERTY key pad. Generally, some of the keypad will start to show symptom within 3 months and others will follow.

Common symptoms are :
1. Once you pressed the button, but the character did not appear on screen .
2. You pressed the button once, but it appear 2 or 3 character on screen .
3. The soft-keypad will start to wear out from commonly used characters , for example space bar, dot(. ), and question mark(?), and other characters will also slowly develop the symptom described in point two and three.
4. The soft-keypad will start to wear out after few months of under normal usage. (i swear I’m not an avid SMSer..)

Guess what , if your device is out of warranty , it will cost you SGD80 to replace the support material without adding in the labour charge yet.

How to : Change laptop memory for Samgsung Netbook N120

Step 1 : Flip your netbook and locate the memory section, unscrew the nut and take out the cap.

 

Step 2 : Electrostatic discharge your hand by touching any conductive metal or wearing a glove. (CAUTION: Electrostatic sensitive device, not for kids, except maybe you got lot of $ to buy a new one for him to play)

 

Step 3 : pull the 2 levers simultaneously as shown and the RAM will pop up as shown at the following figure.

 

 

Step 4 : Take out the the 1GB RAM in the direction as shown

 

Step 5 : unpack your RAM package, take out your newly bought 2GB RAM and slot it into your netbook in the direction shown. (note : this netbook only support DDR2 laptop RAM)

 

Step 6 : Press down in direction as shown until you hear the “click” sound from the levers and you’re done!
